Jackson (Lydia Cabot) House is built.
1863
(ca.) One of five contiguous houses, it is located at 22 Marlborough Street and built for the widow of the textile manufacturer and her children. Subsequent occupants include investment banker Charles Kidder, author Winston Churchill. The building is operated as a lodging house during much of the first half of the twentieth century. It is purchased by The Work of God, Inc., in 1954, combined with 24 Marlborough Street, and used as a dormitory and chapel until the mid 1970s. The building is converted to apartments in 1975 and condominiums in 1976.
